Jarvis privacy policy
Last updated 29 September 2026
Jarvis is a personal voice assistant that Norman built for himself (about Jarvis). He is its only user. This policy explains what Jarvis does with information from his Google accounts.
What Jarvis can access
Only what Norman allows through Google sign-in, for his own accounts:
- Gmail: reading messages (for example order and shipping emails), and sending or labelling email when he asks;
- Google Calendar: reading and adding events;
- Google Classroom: his courses, assignments, due dates, announcements and course materials, read-only;
- Google Drive: finding and reading his Docs and Slides, and creating new files when he asks.
How it is used
- Only to answer Norman's own requests, such as "where's my package?" or "what's due this week?", and to carry out actions he asks for.
- The information is processed on Norman's own computers at home. To produce a spoken answer, the part of it that the request needs (for example an email's subject or an assignment's due date) is sent to OpenAI's API, which generates the reply.
- Tracking numbers found in shipping emails are looked up with the 17TRACK package-tracking service to get a parcel's status.
What Jarvis never does
- It does not sell, rent or share this information with anyone else.
- It does not use it for advertising or to build profiles.
- It does not use it to train AI models.
- It does not transfer it to anyone except as described above, to answer Norman.
Jarvis's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Storage and removal
The sign-in tokens that let Jarvis reach these accounts are kept on Norman's own computers. Access can be withdrawn at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, after which Jarvis can no longer read anything from that account.
